im thinking about doing uprated twins on my next rex project. my question is , whats the max boost the sequential system can cope with. or is it a case of what the turbos can cope with.

i had heard problems arise with high boost on the rats nests soliniods etc.

also whats the difference between the bnr usa uprated twins/ knightsports and the turbo technics twins available from wgt?

cheers

The stock early twins (TW10) would be safe upto about 12psi, the later model twins (TW12) should be good for around 14psi.

I\'ve never heard them referred to as a TW code (I\'m a yank) but the stock Hitachi turbo\'s that come on US car\'s (HT12) are reliable up to 15psi, at which point they begin making too much heat, and start "chopping" the air rather than just compressing it.

As for uprated twins. I know the older BNR\'s were good for upwards of 21 psi. This past winter Bryan has started using some newer, better turbines and changed around a couple other bits. I\'m not exactly sure what their current MAX is (though I could ask him), but I do know they don\'t really start to get happy until you break that 15psi mark. Anything below that and they act just like a pair of stock twins in good condition.

Unfortunately I can\'t comment on either of the other systems you mentioned, I have no experience with either of them.

Oh yeah, and you may experience problems with the rats nest when you go above 16psi of boost. At that point hoses can pop loose due to the pressure, easy fix is to zip tie them on. Though that can be a pain when you want to work on it..

To run over 0.9 bar in seq on any Twins package you will need the following:

Uprated Solenoids (stock can only handle 1bar)
Reduced Rats Nest (advised)
New Vacuum Hosing
Viton Check Valves (stock can only handle 1bar)
Ported WG (Ideally)

Then you should have happy trouble free 300+ seq wheel hp

Brian says that BNR\'s run out of steam at around 1.4-1.5 bar. As monky confirmed BNR\'s arent really happy just plodding at stock boost, they will be much more efficient at 1.1/1.2bar

HTH :)
