Well all being well i should be competing in the manx motor racing event in just over 3 weeks so since the last time i competed i have made a couple of changes to my rex so should more competitive.

Does anyone fancy a trip over to the isle of man?

Right then here is what happened in this year\'s event

Day one bray hill

Since the last time i entered this hillclimb i have increased the power by changing from stock twins to garrett gt35/40r and smic to vmic and all necessary fuelling parts and to finish off porting was added for better spool up.

So from last time where i came somewhat down the field i approached the start with r888s in slightly damp conditions and tried to launch with a little over 3k rpm but grip was not there so really bad start until getting into 3rd then grip at which point my time had been somewhat rubbish and after that being my 1st practice the rain came down again and so after another practice and quite a few incidents day one racing was abandoned, such a shame as was pretty confident but hey safety first.

I should point out that bray hill takes place in between houses and has quite a few stone walls to have look at hehe.

Day two sloc

In my defence i have never driven this at all so upon getting a better launch one because the sun was out and adjusting the edfc to make it a little softer but still could not get the power down in 1st or 2nd i ended up running last furthermore a local friend on the isle of man said i should be careful as along the the hill there was a dip on the right coming up to the left hander which if you hit the dip i may end up over the wall with a 1000ft drop after it so that was that.

day three mountain road

This was the best day for me because last time i was 3rd in class and felt alot more confident so the sun was out and i got up 6.30am to go and do some practice ie familiarise myself with the road again.

Then my 1st practice i was running 1st yippee and it was clear that the car was much better despite in 1st and 2nd i still could not get grip but once into 3rd the car was fabulous so then 1st timed run i was over a second in front from 2nd place which i thought went well because in this run i had the back end out at the hairpin and got it back imo very quick.

So then it was my final timed run still with over a second between me and 2nd place but all i could think about was if i can get a good launch then i could get an even faster time so im sure you can guess upto the hairpin previously it was approached in 3rd but this my final timed run i got into 4th which obviously meant higher speeds and so i ended up braking late and turned into the corner and felt the back end step out so counter steered it again the thought i had caught it so back onto the throttle in 2nd gear and were i thought i caught i hadnt so out comes the back end into a 180 degree spin.

It ended up i was 2nd place 4 tenths behind the class winner so runner up with the smaller trophy than winning but hey if you guys want to give me some tips as to getting the best launches please feel free.

If any of you guys would like to see the internal/external footage of the spin let me know.

Finally after my recent visit to the isle of man does anyone fancy a trip over again later this year and i shall see what i organise for prices hopefully a good discount.

P.S. it was nice to see in the flesh xmn\'s fortune rx7 and sorry for not getting another chance to meet up with you luba.
