RX7 at 19?

Whos the youngest person on here with a gen 3 rx7???  Impossible to get one at 19? Anyone got some numbers to try??

Have a look around in the insurance section.

The main name for decent quotes seem to be:
Tesco
Sureterm
AON (you wont be old enough here for sure).

Might have forgotten a couple.

Got a quote with the aa on my 106gti for 4700, and an rx7 for 6000.

I know i can get insurance on my car for 1400 with elephant but they wont insure under 21\'s on that car so i need someone else whos equally cheap!

Theres no magic number thats gonna insure you at 19 on a RX-7

why not buy a 1st or 2nd gen NA RX7 or another "classic" (over 10 years old ) rwd car till you can afford to insure a 3rd gen ... bonus is you get a bit of rwd driving experience before jumping in with both feet !

Na i only really like the gen 3, i think i\'ll have to wait.  Dont fancy ringing any companies, dont want to get laughed at :rolleyes:

Is it any surprise that people drive with no insurance when the quotes are so ridiculous.
How about having a 3rd gen RX-7 registered in the name of one of your parents, they insure it as a second car, and  you buy a cheap runaround and insure it fully comp? That way the insurance company who has covered you fully comp will provide third party only cover on a car owned and insured by another person - ie the RX-7 for which the registered keeper is mum or dad.

Thats a damn good idea, but i dunno if i\'d want to be third party on such a beast.  Dont u also have to be 21 for that or do some insurance companies do it at any age?? I spose its technically legal too??

I\'m not suggesting insurance premiums are low but if I owned an insurance company I don\'t think I\'d take on under 25\'s for an RX7.

Looking at accident claims related to under 25\'s would YOU risk YOUR money on a payout insuring young driver on a performance car, I wouldn\'t ?

most insurance companies only allow you to drive another car third party in an emergancy ... you\'d be on very dodgy grounds insuring a car that way IMHO and insurance companies are usually very switched on when it comes to paying out claims !

A lot of insurance companies are aware of this and just wont add you onto the policies.  If they do, the costs go up a lot anyway and you may as well get your own.

no we mean if ur fully comp on a car u can drive any car third party without telling insurance company what car it is.
