I just had a thought that a sticky thread could be put up, with parts numbers of often needed items, prices charged, quality of service and where they were bought from, with respect to mazda dealers (possibly other places if cheaper/better)

This would give us all an idea of what dealers are import friendly, how much they charge for a set item and what the exact part number was, so that the desired part can be ordered easily and you\'d know whether you were being ripped off or not.

We could start off with the water pump as i\'m sure alot of people would be interested in the part number of this type of item, how much it was and what dealer it was from

Other things could be, oil filter, fuel filter, the rx8 illuminating gear knob:cool  , OE air filter, engine/diff mounts, rear bushes etc etc etc.....

What do you guys think?

Kind Regards,

Paul:)

Good idea.

Maybe could add helpful dealerships into it.  Would be handy.  My nearest Mazda parts is in Ashford and are friggin awful!!!!  Wouldn\'t quote me for a fog light switch as I didn\'t have a part number.  Explained there wouldn\'t be one as jap cars dont need fog light  and that I was after uk spec but no, not interested.  Name and shame thats what I say.

Here you go Paul:

Water pump/housing - N3A115100A - £62.70 +VAT
Gasket for Water Pump - N3A115116 - £3.88 +VAT
Gasket - N38615162 - £2.12 +VAT

And a big-up for Lythgoe Mazda in Bolton...very helpful indeed

Neil,

I\'ve always had the same problem with Blackpool Mazda, they are not prepared to search a part without a valid UK chasis number, Perry\'s of Preston\'s Mazda dealers do the same.
Maybe we could find out a valid UK chasis number, and all use the same one so we can use the Mazda Dealers as if we had UK RX7\'s !

Cheers Ben,

Is looking good, we just need someone in the know, to put up a table at the top with this information entered (bit like the 1/4mile table) and to also make it sticky:bandit

Cheers,

Paul:)

My Local dealer (Wrights in Norwich) needed a chassis number before even an enquirey could be raised and told me delivery would be approx 6 weeks for anything i ordered.

So i called jimmy\'s:
knock+throttle position sensors off the shelf £60+VAT.

Cool:cool, you got the parts number anywhere??, so you can post them here:D.

I used Clive\'s UK chassis number; he just recently posted it on a clutch thread, if you want to search for it or i can pm you. But i don\'t want to blatantly write his chassis number all over the boards for obvious reasons:)

Cheers, Paul:)

Think WGT in Northwich gave a quote of less than the one listed above for a full water pump. And i\'m sure they are cheaper than mazda for most items and have a very good reputation on here.

Hope this helps,

Paul:)

This seems like a very good idea.
Don\'t suppose the same could be done for the FC by any chance?

Here is a new code for FD3S wheel studs:

Wheel studs     J00Y - 33 - 062  Â£3.26each plus VAT

I got them from Gordon Lamb in Nottingham and the young lad that works there already knows my name :eek and is a helpful chap:). Just hope it doesn\'t get like it did with the peeps at renault when I used to own my 5, i\'m pretty sure they used to rub their hands together in anticipation when they knew i was coming, due to the amount of cash I spent there , lol however they were also nice blokes and ended up giving me a trade account ;)

Anyone know the part number for the black rubber stops in the boot that sit just behind each taillight under the plastic covers?? Think mine have worn down and contributing to the hatch squeak noise.
