I\'ve been toying with the idea of motorsport after I got hooked a little on track days so I\'ve been wondering if anybody knows if Mazda ever homologated the RX3 and RX4 for racing?

Also, would anybody know of a decent RX3 or RX4 for sale that could be used for such an endeavour? Basically, good body and mechanicals are what I\'m after, if the interior isn\'t that great I don\'t care as it\'d give me an excuse to fit some proper seats and a cage...

RX-3\'s were homologated in group 1 and 2, for 10a and 12a.
Nothing for RX-4\'s unfortunately, I\'ve been trying to find any sort of history and just a lot of dead ends :(

I\'ll drop you a pm :)

The \'Mazda Motorsport\' book is a good place to have a look as well - although it will give you lots of ideas for spending ££££... :wave

Actually a quick look at http://classictouringcars.com/ suggests that you should be able to run them either in their Post Historic or Classic Group One class...

The homologation papers (5544) for the RX3 allows you to run the close ratio box, as well as rear disc brakes, a two link rear end, flares on the guards, a front and rear spoiler, under-shield sump-guard, a strut brace, a LSD centre and a twin system exhaust... lots of options!!!
