buying advice

hopefully i will be buying my first rx7 this evening, just wanted to ask a couple of newbie questions:

are there any buying tips, wat to look out for??

the rx7 is a type r, can i confirm this by vin number???

You can look out for the twin oil coolers. If you face the car from the front, the far left lower part of the bumper and far right you should find some small black radiator style units, these are the oil coolers, if you have one on each side, you\'ve got yourself a Type R. Now the category of type R is usually written somewhere in the engine bay, or on the door sil if I remember correctly (but mine has nothing there )

First off mate have you had a good look through the stickys and buying guides on this very forum?

Are you buying from a recognised dealer?

Do you have proof of a re-build or rotary compression test results?

Do you know the background of the car?

Dont go buying a £3000 money pit because it seems a bargain

best thing you can do is ask nicely one of the members near you to go with you on a second viewing, most of us know the cars in side out and will spot warning signs,,

I cannot work out where you are based?
