Hi peeps, :Typing

Might sound a little stupid to some of you but would a 1.5 way lsd make my cars backend come out more and tend to spin the wheels alot easier.

for road use would you prefer a standard LSD or a 1.5 way unit?

standard diff would be the obvious choice for road driving. 1.5 does have \' not for road use\' printed in the manual i noticed.  but i know lots of people run them.  such as myself...however im am yet to use mine as the cars off road so i cant give you a comparison im affraid.

i know the 1.5 way should give you more traction for straightline sprints.  but what effectively does is locks the wheels under acceleration and locks the wheels under deceleration but not as strongly as on acceleration.  therefore your back will hang out on corners often lol

ive also heard they are very clunky in operation. i was also told if you want to die or get arrested get a 2 way lol

karl_tate

so what is the difference between a 1.5 and a 2 way??

2way do the full lock on decell aswell, so your back will be out much much easier.. Would not recommend for roaduse, especially not in the wet.
I have seen a tomei diff in action, totally silent so that might be what you want. Others have been very noisy!

because my FD does has a 1.5 way LSD but also a T78 single, i guess that prob explains its antics...1 and 2nd just spin, 3rd just about gets traction after a few heart stopping mments lol
