Hi,

Anybody got any info on the above, wiring diagram or manuals etc?  I picked one up on Ebay along with a KS ECU (also no info, any help here would also be appreciated), installation looks to be a doddle except for a long green wire from te EBS III which I can\'t idintify.

I am aware of the mapping issues arround 2nd hand (especially Jap import) ECU\'s, but fortunately I have the kit to monitor whats going on and remove the new ECU if the air/fuel ratio looks poor or I detect a knock.

I\'d really apreciate any documentation you may have or even guidance as to where the long green wire should go.

I have two of these things and the manual in jap :) (also love it!) :Thumbs-up

The green wire is a doddle, its for the dimmer, you connect it to some other wire that sends the signial to dim it when the headlights come on (say the one to your radio)

As for guidance The device reads boost in KG/CM2 wich is roughly equal to BAR. (so standard your looking around 0.70)

You get a few functions on this device:
Boost Gauge with boost controll ON and OFF (indicated by a square light to the right)
Boost settings (in KG/CM2) will show 0.60 once first turned on.
The third option i dont know sadly! but it goes up in 0.0x incriments.

AS for other functions you can press and hold the top right button to display your maximum boost attained etc.

I asked Knightsports for a translation of the manual for the function and got this: as for installation its a case of plugging the loom connector inbetween your ECU and loom (simple as! no soldering needed)
QuoteAs to the hose connected,
 EBS3\' s boost control valve,
Top : connect hose to intake manifold or compressor housing(boost)
Side : connect the hose to actuator swing valve
Bottom : free
Also you need to connect the hose(about 4mm dia) to EBS3(silver box).

As to switch on EBS3(silver box)

S-P switch :  S:Swing valve
                   P:Poppet valve
N-W switch :  N:Narrow range, the boost is quickly to rise, overshoot will happen.
W: Wide range, the boost is slowly to rise, overshoot will not happen.
First you have to set "W".

Volume dial : set at 12:00
If the boost is not stability, first you need to set the dial 7:00. next gradually turn right the dial.
If the boost is stability on "W" range, you need to also set the boost on "N" range(same way)
Finally "W" or "N", the best condition you use.

As to control pad,

Mode switch push once: boost set mode(you can set the boost using up or down button)
next: off set mode(a little boost set)
                         next: boost gauge mode

Power switch once : LED lights "-", sports mode.
next : LED doesn\'t light "-", normal mode.

Finally, you finished to install EBS3 assy, you drive the car to check the normal boost carefully.
(then EBS is power off)
Next you need to set the boost to consultation the above way.

thank you

I woof in your general direction.

Both,

Thanks for your help.  Dimmer control, that didn\'t even cross my mind !

Leon, the link you posted appears to be broken but is referenced from a lot of other sites, lets hope its fixed soon, the whole site looks to be down.

Thanks again

If you can read jap i could scan in a copy of the manual as i would love to know what the 3rd function setting on the controller does, figured out parts like how to read maximum boost, and peak hold etc
I woof in your general direction.

Cybersloth

I can get the manual translated, if you could scan it
