Removing OEM cubby tray

Does anyone know how to remove the OEM DIN cubby / coin holder section from a post-99 FD ? I can\'t see any obvious way of removing it, and I am just upgrading from a single DIN headunit to a double DIN touch screen, so need to get rid of it.

Any advice would be most appreciated before I start hacking around and potentially causing damage !
