Rear Seats

As you may know I\'ve recently bought a Cosmo.

The rear suspension [Tein] is much stiffer than the front and the guy I bought it off tells me the only way to get to the damper adjustment knobs on top of the struts is to take the back seats out.

Anyone know what\'s involved in taking the back trin/seats out?

I haven\'t had a look yet, thought I\'d as first.

Both seat bases out John just a spring clip under the front edge. You can then get to the bolts holding the cenre section in. The trim from around the top is on spring clips start at either front edge near the doors and work back. You should be able to get to the seat backs now. I\'ll double check tomorrow there may be a easier way of getting to the strut tops. Another option is i\'ll give you stock suspension in exchange for the tein ones:Santa

To remove rear parcel shelf to access strut tops involves removing what seems like half the interior. I found this web page which is a great help. Most of it is obvious except for No14, which is a fitting which is released by pulling a piece of string up under the rear headrest panel between the seat backs.

Would it be easier to drop the suspension out?

Having said that I guess you need to do all this to access the top mount bolts.................

Nope, bolts are under parcel shelf.

Perhaps rear suspension is not to hard after all:)

is it definately top adjustable,  just double check there are no knobs on the leg of the shock.   I\'m sure the previous owner knows what he\' talking about but might be worth a check.

You could always just stiffen the front to match
