Guys, I\'m going to be sorting the underside of the car out ASAP as I have a little surface corrosion on the sill to floorpan seams (cos some pleb jacked it up in the wrong place & opend the seam:mad: ) & on the underside of the front passenger chassis leg. So basicaly after sorting the corrosion out, what would be the best under body guard to use & should I do above the exhaust & in the transmition tunnel aswell, or am I asking for fires doing this????

Please name your product of choice here:

Waxoil is much better than underseal for protection - best to use a compresor to apply it to the car and box sections.

I\'m not going to tell you what i use because you\'d laugh.
In all seriousness i spray the underside with wire rope lube the stuff they spray on the wire hoist ropes on cranes its a non setting ptfe based lube but has a dry surface skin and sticks like $hit to a blanket.

wow kev.... I\'ve heard of some things being used!!!!

I\'ve used an anti fouling for steel boats before & that is double hard stuff....

Just didn\'t want to risk setting the pride & joy alight!!! Is it best to keep away from the exhaust or am I OK doing this area to??

What can i say it works. But if you think about it the stuff is designed to stay on wire ropes even as they are run over and around pulleys so the underside of a car is a easy life. Another plus is it will not burn so your safe around the exhaust and come MOT time if the tester gets some on his hands he won\'t go too close to the underside or brake pipes again.
