RX-8888

Hi.. It has been a while...

News here from Mazda Australia GM and others that the RX-8 will stop production at the end of this year (2007). The last model you will see
is the 40TH Anniversary one.

Production to resume in April 2008, we are 99% certain that this new model will start at this time and be available around May/June 2008.

At the very least is will be a face-lift.
Some US sources are reporting a "re-skin".

Sorry, I can not offer any more info, there have been no spy pics.
Many think the Tokyo Motor Show in a few weeks will reveal more.

Also for those who have not heard there is a RENESIS II Engine also due to make an appearance in Tokyo, it is a larger 15C with a long stroke or wide diameter rotors....1.55 litres!

Most think the reason for the RX-8 Production STOP is to clear ALL dealer stocks and give Mazda Japan some time (it is a very busy working environment in Hiroshima), however, one thing for sure is the RX-8 will be back in May/June 2008 and that\'s a direct email from the GM of Mazda Australia Mr.Doug Dickson.

PS, I am trying to get him to disclose more info, will let you know.

Why do you think its better looking?, For me they\'ve overcomplicated it and ruined the previously smooth theme with lots of unnecissary add-ons and tacky chrome.

The only thing which I like on it are the 19" RS standard wheels.
