Question on importing

HI does anyone know is it posible to buy an FD3S newer than 10 years i.e 2000 plate as ive herd it is impossible.

You can import one, but you wont be able to register it for road use until its 10 years old as there is no model report to use for the ESVA test.

there are a few out there but they would have had to been sva tested before vosa decided to change the rules.
mine is a 1999 fd.

so i can import one and register it by getting it sva tested then. what is the diff between esva and sva

No you can\'t import an RX-7 that\'s less than ten years old and SVA it - it has to go through the ESVA, which means you\'ll need a model report that isn\'t available, hence no ESVA and thus no way to make it legal until it\'s ten years old.

or buy one that is allready on the road-thats the only ways or wait until 2009 to get a 99 spec.

so how did you get your 99 fd im guessing you bought it of some one.

no i imported it myself and put it through the sva test in august 2004 before they changed the rules to rx7 needing a full on enhanced sva i think in jan 2005 ish.my mate has his sat in the garage as he didnt get it ready in time for the sva now he cant drive it and it is sat in his garage with 8000miles on the clock -gutted!!-but at least he has until 2009 to fit his bodykit etc!!!
