Hello chaps
I recently noticed my T40s is blown and have been looking for a replacement for a month or so, there are plenty out there but I just cannot make up my mind, I have the opportunity to pick one of these up fairly cheap can anyone tell me if this would be overkill for my needs and how hard is it to rig up the water cooling on the turbo.

I have all ther mods in place to support this but need to know 1. if it will be a direct replacement and 2.Will it be sreet useable.

Any input would ne appreciated.

Thanks Nick

not that far apart from a to4R in wheel size...so i doubt it would be overkill....just be prepared for possible new downpipe as there is no guarantee your old one will bolt straight on

I have just had a quick look around and have found you can buy an adaptor for the v-band exhaust housing with the four bolt for the ohter end so should not be a problem.

But what about the water for cooling where is it plumbed from?

Thanks

arrouk

there are a feed and return pipes on the waterpump housing, as used for the twins.

do you mean T04S turboin your first post, if so i think this is a fair bit bigger so capable fof more power but also more lag.

Yes it is the t04s but the gt is ball bearing so faster spooling so not too much of a trade off.

Thanks chaps

the to4s has a 60-61mm comp wheel...thre gt4094r has a 64mm comp wheel so this will make more power than the to4s...hence why i said it is closer to the to4r/to4z spec.

Its not just the flange you need to worry about but how high or low your turbo sits....thats why i said you may have to look at getting another downpipe made up...or modifying what you have.

There is a bit more to think about than just the size of the Turbo, the Hotside size will make a masive diffrence and Porting will help too.

It all depends on what mods you have and what Hp you want to run when its done, if you are only looking for 400 (for example) you would be wise to go for a Gt35r with a t4 Footprint (would make a better road turbo for that sort of Hp)

Thanks Ed and Thanks Grizzly

you don\'t need my exhaust housing.

The core will fit straight onto your exhaust housing
