Sorry mate... Yes I am tired, oily and have a few cut fingers. lol.

I\'m off to bed now. Thanks for the transalation!

no worries mate, also forgot to tell you i know the answer, lol

as you have disconnected the lines it will need to be bled and refilled.

1. ensure any lines you have taken off dont leak anywhere as the council will hate you and you may ruin your paint if it touches etc.

2. buy a one man bleeding kit from your work! Easy. (or get a pipe and empty bottle and a friend to pump peddle.)

3. start rear passenger side i.e. furthest away from master cylinder then on the caliper you will see a little nozzle with a rubber cap.

4. remove rubber cap place on pipe then undo the nozzle a little with a spanner to release the fluid. if you have bleeding kit it will suck all fluid our if not get a friend to pump peddle (when it hits the floor it may need bringing up by hand)

5. repeat on rear drivers side then front passengers then front drivers.

6. finally do the clutch from another nozzle on slave cylinder

7. refill without spilling

8. have pint :)

oh yea and do not use dot 4 or anything with silicon. dot 5.1 (from memory) also sold at halfruads

You confused me there.

"remove rubber cap place on pipe then undo the nozzle a little with a spanner to release the fluid. if you have bleeding kit it will suck all fluid our if not get a friend to pump peddle (when it hits the floor it may need bringing up by hand)"

So are you sucking all the fluid out?? Then filling it up again?

m4drx

basically imagine a nozzle like a tap. to open you have to use a spanner and also to close it.

you put a piece of pipe on it any pipe that fits and then pump the brakes which will empty the fluid in the car. you do it from the furthest point so its completely empty before refilling.

the only advantage of the one man kits are you dont need the pumping peddle bit as it sucks the fuid out. when you cant see anymore fluid coming out (pipe is see through) you are done on that corner.

Ah...

Another question...

Brake fluid goes where? Is it the top left bottle in the engine bay? Also, where does the clutch fluid go when you top it up?

And I take it you do the same with the slave cylider? Just pump the bottle thing till it\'s empty? Then refill?

m4drx

brake and clutch use the same fluid in an rx and are filled in the top left container which is in front of the master cylinder. if you have no leaks you wont need to top up the level will drop though as the brakes wear.

slave - clutch is basically the last bit after the brakes and yes same procedure.

you can complete this in 15 mins. :)

Nice... I take it you don\'t need to take wheels off etc to do each one?
