My gen 3 7 has just failed its MOT on emmisons the only thing I can think of that it is the streetport that it is doing it. Is there any way of adjusting the CO (my car has a stock ecu). Also they could not find my car in their book so does any one no what the emmisons limit is on a gen 3?

Thanks

Depends on the year what test it gets. If it\'s a pre aug 95 it gets a non cat test which is just a test at idle and is allowed to read upto 3.5% c0% the reason it gets a non cat is because the chassis number of a jdm import is not listed on the vosa database and it\'s a pre-95 if it was not listed on there database and was post aug95 it would get a default test which is stricter.
So what test did you have ??

My car is pre 95 so it can have a non cat test. The guy who tested it said I was only aloud 200 on the co2 emmisons and I was well over that!

200 on co2 didn\'t think that was possible ???
I know they do 200 on hydrocarbons but thats for the cat test the non cat I believe is 1200 hc thats allowed.
You sure it\'s co2 that way over 200

Sorry your right it was 200 hydrocarbons. The thing is when the car was sat at idle it was up to 2200 hydrocarbons but when the guy put his foot down a bit and brought the revs up slightly it dropped down to under 400. Still high thats why I wanted to know if the co could be changed?

Pop over and see Dave Thompson in Reading, he has his own Mot testing station and is Rotor friendly, if you know what I mean ;)

In simple terms you will pass emissions going there!

Airpump is still connected, still have a cat on it. The only mods I have is a Kakimoto back box, street port, 3mm seals and duplex side seals that is it.

If it dropped to 400 then that\'s a pass.
It could be a ton of reasons why it\'s high. I pulled apart an air control valve the other week as the car was running too rich and and it was caked full of carbon, I mean caked beyond what you could imagine. Porting is not going to help, the bricks in the cat could be a bit caked. There is an adjuster for how air/fuel mixture just below the elbow going to the throttle body, I have  been advised that this is best left a lone don\'t know for what reason though. Airpump may not be working properly. I bought one the other month off of someone who had gone the single turbo route and it worked but emissions was crap. tried another air pump and emissions were fine. I don\'t know if there is a proper way to diagnose if they are  100%??
