Hey guys. Finally fitted my engine and hooked everthing up. But when i turn it over its seems to be just about starting just not getting to the final hurdle!!

I know the batterys dead so going to charge it up and give that a go (when cranking before had it hooked up on jump leads).

The plugs might be fowled, so going to give them a clean!

there is definately a spark as i took the plugs out and tested them on the ht leads.

There is fuel (i think) as the plugs were wet and also there is smoke coming out of the exhaust when cranking it over.

Im thinking that maybe it could be something to do with the crank angle senors. On one of them the wire looks a bit dodgy, are these the right way around?

Any of you guys have any ideas of what it could be???

LRP

from memory yes my wires touched and killed the last engine!  Is the fuel lines on the right way?
complete wankel :god

Problems i had when trying to start for the first time:
fuel lines not connected properly
temp sensor not connected
broken wire on crank sensor plug
flooding.
rectified above, but the thing that got it going was, i put my old set of plugs in 7s and 9s, that were dry, and it fired up first time.
Lead me not into temptation, I can find it myself...
But i can always do with some help now due to, my advancing years!

Those plugs are the same way round as mine

I started with nothing and I have most of it left

the fuel lines! i know which pipe petrol feeds from as i took it off and secured it with a bottle. Does the feed line for the fuel go first into the primary rail and then round to the secondary rail or does it plug first into the secondary rail? also just to note, im getting smoke out of the exhaust when its cranking over, is this unburnt fuel??

my temp sensor wire is broken, but would that stop it from starting, wouldnt it once its started over fuel!

Clarky

yes it would over fuel, and i think keep flooding hence no starting

yeah when the temp sensor wire is broke, the ecu thinks the car is warm so floods the engien with too much fuel at ignition :O.. Fix it or you\'ll have a pain everytime you start it from cold...

ttpower

which temp sensor, do you mean the o2 sensor? if not where is this temp sensor located?

thanks.

Clarky

Behind the water pump housing

ah yeah thats alright. Think i might know what the problem is. I have cut all the solinoids off and gone non-sequential(will be going single soon). The heat light is coming on and im guessing its going into limp mode straight away and over fuelling hence no start. anyone got a power fc they can plug into my car!!!!! im in wilmslow.

RobbieRX-7

You\'ve gone non sequential with the stock ecu?? Correct me if im wrong but dont you need it mapping for non sequential? If you have unplugged any solenoids, the stock ecu should pick this up. The power fc will ignore any missing solenoids. You desperatley need a power fc on it mate!

ttpower

yeah you totally right mate i do need it remapping. Just unpatient waiting for my power fc lol!
