Is there another way to fit one of these without drilling a hole into the coolent filler neck or having to drain all the coolent out? Mike has attached his to the existing sender, are they acurate enough for another gauge?

alright craig,

you could try a radiatior hose adaptor??

i did this before tapping the filler neck, was accurate when the thermostat opened.

aye its all cool now!:Thumbs-up

dont know how accurate adding a sensor wire to the existing sensor would be.
i would assume the guage you have has a corresponding sensor with it (IE designed with the gauge electronics), this may have a different range to the existing sensor on the car??
hmmm?
anyway i have an adaptor with a 1/8npt sensor thread if the above doesnt work.

just my 2p but I reckon you may as well have a second one in case the one you are using isn\'t 100% - at least if there\'s a difference you\'ll check it out. If both gauges are wrong then you\'re still none the wiser. I put mine in an adapter in one of the hoses. Didn\'t lose that much coolant when I was doing it - bent the hoses back and slipped the adapter in then topped it up.

You could always convert the existing temp gauge to show accurate readings.

Yeah, mine was a 40mm diameter with a 1/8npt tap adaptor for the sensor. put it in the top hose under the airbox (when i had it).
