I know these cars have a 76 liter tank but I have never been able to even get 60 liters in???  Anyone know why this is, I mean 16 liters is quite a bit but I only get close to that! :3Confused

I started with nothing and I have most of it left

Maybe you\'re not running it low enough? Probably for the best eh ;)

I can\'t understand that either. Unless the Jap imports are only 60 lts and the UK are 76 lts.
Carl said that it is common for tuners to tweek the level sender bar so the light comes on early so that you never run the tank down if you have uprated the fuel pump and don\'t run a swirl pot.
But prior to ever having any work on my FD it was always under a 60lts fill up.
Anybody else have any views.:3gears-rh

I got 65l in mine the other day and its a Jap import.  I just left it till the fuel light came on.  Is it deffo 76l??  I was thinking 65l was a bit close to empty.

Such a crap fuel range may as well let it get low imo.... no laughing if I ever run out :Hammer

Back when fuel was over £1 litre I used to put £79 odd down at my local Tesco, from an almost empty tank.  Be sure to tweak the angle of the filler nozzle as sometimes that can make a difference....

Only way to measure is drain the tank from underneath, measure what comes out and then fill up. They did one that had a 110 litre tank didn\'t they late on ?

Interesting....

My car was completly stock when I had it and a UK model.  I have run it so the fuel light has come on before but still not managed any where near 76liters.

Im always wary of the low fuel syndrome so as is said, it\'s not a problem.

I also had it suggested to me that really old cars never used to have a breather system so the tanks used to impode! As ours have a sort of breather system I dont think it\'s that.

Good to know it\'s just not me anyway! :chat

I heard of that one - sure it was an Auzzie model with 120ltr tank?

Coming back from Lemans we sat in a massive que of traffic that went on for miles, by the time we managed to get to a petrol station the light had been on forever, and we put in 72ltrs.

Bobfish

The RX7 SP came with a 110 litre carbon fibre tank

That\'s more like it! :chat

I actually ran out of petrol once... it was very embarrassing... sitting at the side of the road by a bus stop with an OAP staring at me... It made me feel quite uncomfortable

memski

Pmsl - that\'s my worst fear, and why I never let it run under a quarter if I can help it :D

Bobfish

Used to happen in my old nova ALL the time. The petrol gauge didnt used to work, so it was very difficult to know how much fuel was in it when i wasnt filling it up all the time (which i couldnt, because when i dropped the tank last i disconnected a breather pipe and never got around to fixing it!)

The amount of times i ran out of petrol in that thing was insane lol.

yamaster

i get 70 liters into mine every time i fill it up. (every day lol)
