Prop location into diff??

Had my car up on ramp and I am able to move the prop up and down and left and right about 1/4 of an inch. Have been loosing oil out of the diff too. Get quite a bit of movement in the gear lever area inside the car when I lift off the throttle. Checked the ppf and no visible cracks. Had a few loose nuts which I have tightened but still not great.
Should the prop be able to move like that?
Could it be the bearing or is the diff knackered?
