hairyhoover, its not too difficult, you can get videos/ dvds that help you rebuild.

to my mind, its the best way forward for you.

rx7veilside

note the ebay ad states recent service and rebuild by specialist re-worx which will lead to a longer life than cars with half its mileage..specialist what, draw your own conclusions there are plenty of us out there that have had this specialist care applied to our cars and are now sorry

I really feel for you, I had a similar thing whereby the seals went very soon after buying and it was months before I could afford the rebuild. It\'ll all get sorted in the end mate one way or the other, a real disappointment that your first experience with the FD has been like this.

CraigN

After reading the newera story its jsut a bit off.

They seemed to have been selling this for a long time advertising it as a Cheap sngle even when they advertised on this site.

I remember the thread and Dragon made a comment about the price of the car for what it was.

When one person has a bad experience i spose it could be just bad luck but when you constantly read about problems liek this and Re worx havent even bothered to reply to the newera post.

Really sorry for you mate. I would have thought buying a car from a place like reworx would mean a little peace of mind then you get whacked with this selling it for someone else ********.

damn shame

Although i\'m no expert wouldn\'t mind popping down to give you a hand when i can if you try to rebuild it yourself mate, would be a first for me too but if theres no other way a extra pair of hands i can offer ??

good offer and you should that up, you wont need a ramp, as Gurjy boy is big enough to just pick the car up for engine removal,
Gurj the human craine LOL

hairyhoover

Hi thanks for the offer much . I have just received a phone call from Trading standard offering a fair amount of advice! they believe i should either be getting a refund or a direct replacement!! The fact that reworx didn’t own the car make my case stronger apparently! Something to do with them being an \'agent\' so i am just typing up a letter now. For them to officially respond to.

I will pursue this 1st, but if i don’t have any luck i will let you know! Cheers again!!

Quote from: oldoneKind sirs, you are all a bit hasty with the sharp knifes I think  ...Scenario: Person asks REWORX to sell car as they come into contact with a lot of prospective buyers.REWORX says.....no problem,we will do you the favour........A.N.Other comes along and buys the car \'as is\',drives away and car breaks down.A.N.Other phones REWORX and asks for help.....REWORX think "what the hell have we got ourselves into now"?,they feel sorry for A.N.Other (as he has pleaded poverty)  and offer to help by discounting labour to get the bussiness as any other vendor would.
A lapse of time has occurred (2 months) and many others have given advice and dabbled with said car.......no joy,...so hence, lets get the big whipping stick out and go after the vendor WHO SOLD THE CAR ON BEHALF OF SOMEBODY...................it should read LETS GET THE BIG STICK OUT AND GO AFTER THE PRIVATE PERSON WHO SOLD ME THE CAR !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I read the facts differrant to you all sirs,as I am totally unbiased and dislike to see this \'witch hunt\' attitude of some on this forum. If I buy an FD,drive it home and it breaks,I will park it,shrug my shoulders and say " it has been thrashed all its life as it is a sport car,so let me get on with fixing it"........:cheers :guinness  .....BUT hey,that\'s me !!!!!!

I kind of agree with you and kind of don\'t.

1. The advert on E-bay clearly says he is selling it on behalf of Re:Worx

"For this particular auction I have teamed up with RE-WORX, (who incidentally look after my own RX-7) to sell this car on their behalf."

money was handed over to RE:Worx so they must have a degree of responsibility. Either as an agent or as the seller. If you buy from a dealer then the vehicle must be fit for purpose and it seems the buyer can\'t get to the bottom of who was selling. It should all be very transparent, not a paper trail. Sold by Tom on behalf of RE:Worx with a guy called Steve on the log book. There has to be some accountability and as RE:Worx advertised and took money for the car and no one else seems to be traceable the buck has to stop with them.

Re:Worx have taken a bit of a beating on this forum of late, with New Eras comments and this but have declined to give their side of the story anywhere. Whether they know of this thread or not is debatable, I bet they do, but they sure as hell know about the New Era one and have so far declined to make comment, even just to say they can\'t comment for legal reasons or whatever.

I would have thought, that within this tight knit community they would take the opportunity to comment and put their side of the story, as there are two sides to every story but their unwillingness to do so reflects badly upon them.

Come on Re:worx, defend your rep within this community, its the core of your business and I\'m sure everyone is open minded enough to listen to what you have to say, your silence just damages your reputation more.

the point is when i was talking to another digruntled customer he was told post what u want i have enough customers i dont care what you write.and this kind of sums it up ime afraid.they do have a loyal following of happy customers but as in all things its not doing something wrong its how u rectify those situations
in my situ i wouldnt let them near my car ever again after spending lots of money there and having 2engines that have only lasted a total of about 3000 miles and other slapdash work done
newera are a big company with an excellent rep and wouldnt have posted their experiences lightly

my water injection pump was fixed in my rear bins and on checking one day i found a puddle because the threaded conection at the pump wasnt done up
the feed from the boot had a kink that slowed the water even more

after my engine rebuild i wasnt getting any boost
this was because there was a 3inch split in the pipe leading to the wastegate
and my exhast downpipe was blowing/fine when it went in

my engine rebuild showed compression of i think it was 6.5 front rotor and just under 5 for the rear and i mentioned about the bad starting but it wasnt till i gave the car to carl did he check the compression and advise me
you would think a rotary expert like re worx wld think mmm bad starting when warm lets check the compression

paid for a  innovate wideband gge and sensor to be fitted and was told it was faulty.sent it for testing it was fine and despite me a novice telling them to make sure the supplied termination plug wld need to be fitted for the gge to work they said yes all fitted but still not working.when i went to pick car up and i said why isnt the termination plug fitted blank look blank look and no sign of the plug(i personally checked the box before leaving it there)

after having a clutch fitted again wastegate to manifold pipe left off so was told just connect it to any vac source..found a vac surce that unknown to me was one way and car boosted to 1.5bar due no wastegate control.again exuse was pipe must have blown off on way home(car was negative boost all way home due new clutch)

need i go on
have gone to carl hayward as his reputation is unblemished and he stands by his work and offers warrantee even against det
if you have a problem he will sort it out not fob you off

John Yorke

Oh dear oh dear, same story same people creating myths and ledgands, how come it takes over 2 months and a fair number of miles for all these \'tips\' to let go, anyone checked the condition of the ancillaries, what was the \'condition of sale\'?
Same old witch hunt as far as I can see, seems engine builders are responsable for the condition of everything else, who\'s to say the car has not run on ordinary unleaded? whos to say the boost has not been wound up???
These posts are far to common on this forum, anyone else in the engine building industry want to try thier luck? A thankless task as I see it, all you will do is drive the tuners away from here, have a look at how many have stopped advertising in the last 6 months all you will end up with are people only interested telling how how bad thier experiences have been with nothing positive to help the newbeeys.

On the subject of Newera\'s sticky, as I see it Miguel was a 3rd party at the point of sale, the guy that paid for the import never saw the car, the new owner bought it off the internet and collected the car from Portsmouth, where I personaly saw the car the day before collection and it was a stunner, what happened after that is anyones guess?

Responsable admin would have locked this thread untill the parties involved had a chance to resolve the issues raised, instead everyone goes off half cocked bashing the builder, in my eyes it sucks.

hairyhoover

The engine went on the way home. Not 2 months later. And i have done about 700 miles 300 of them traveling to and from reworx. I brought the car on a saturday and by the time i got home the work shop and shut so i called them 1st thing monday. I used shell vpower on the day of pick up and did not turn up the boost.
That may have sounded snappy ...sorry... just watching tv at the same time.. just wanted to clear that up.

oldone

Kind sirs,......I only replied to the information on the posts and the way this thread was started, and the way it is going.I learnt a valuable lesson in replying to posts hastily. So I ask for restrain and let this thread not become a slagging, beat REWORX to death thread.
I have no affiliation to REWORX,REWORX has not built or worked on any of my cars etc etc.......I am friendly with all on the forum (might be the few exceptions),I am friendly with all advertisers whom I have met and will endevour to meet more of them as time goes on.
Some advertiser reputations are intact on this forum because they go to extreme measures to protect their business, however.it does not mean that they are perfect.:cheers :guinness

I agree with that bit at least

johnf

Sorry John I don\'t see it as any kind of \'Same old witch\'

The guy came on here asking this community for opinions, what should MRC do - tell him to go away or let him hear thevaried responses listed on this thread.

It\'s open to all - that includes the tuner as well.

If they choose to disregard this, thats their right.

As yet I see nothing on here other than some poor guy trying to get help.
I started with nothing and I have most of it left
