I am getting a \'92 type r next week with 52k miles on it and a grade 4 from the jap auction just wanted to make sure with you guys if there is anything i should really look out for when i pick her up.:D

My personal advice talking from recent experience is if it has any mods make sure the boost/turbos are working as they should, i.e not over boosting etc.  This means you should give it a hammering before you drive it away.  Luckly the guys I bought mine from are paying for a re-mapping so it should be ok.

with 52k on the clock i\'d find out if its had a rebuild! cos if it hasent it could possibly be needing one in the not to distant future! but then again, sayin that mines done 45k and feels like it\'d go forever (touch wood).as GMAN said make sure she\'s all there! warrenty facalitys would help ya too!

Its not had a rebuild as far as i know but i will ask. And of course i will give it some when i get it.

Car is great - few boost problems which means you cant stamp on the throttle but feed it in a bit softer and its fast as hell.  Gets as many looks as a Ferrari because its been de badged so no one know what it is unless they know about cars.  Gets better by the day - hope to see you on Sat.

Cheers

Best advice i can give is to make sure you give the car a good road test b4 handing over any money.  Dont let him drive, drive it yourself (take insurance (you should be able to drive other cars on your policy)).  I cant stress this enough, if the car doesn\'t run right (ie boost / pull), walk away....  there are other (better) RXs to be had.

The thing about these cars is that they are just beautiful!  I bought the first one i saw because i fell in love with it, and didnt give it a proper test drive and have had it back at the garage for 3 weeks, and my head under the bonnet every night since changing vacuum hoses/manifold gaskets/ spark plugs etc etc etc...
