Possibly silly question, Are these able to be fitted without removing the 3 bolt alloy Rubber mount housing that bolts on to the sump,??should they be fitted as a pair?
Cheers Bob

Has anyone tried out a set of these?  Would be very interested in some first hand feed backs :cheers

Bob,

Not a silly question at all. These mounts replace the rubber inserts on the 3 bolt alloy arm part. Depending on the year of your car this may be as simple as unbolting the old mount, and bolting this one on. It certainly will not be more complicated than drilling a hole and shaving a few MM of material off the poly mount itself.

All will become clear with the installation instructions...But i can confidently say with the correct tools it will take no longer than 1 hour from the time you remove the old mounts until the time these are fitted to the metal arms and ready to re-install.

And yes, they should be fitted as a pair.

These are coming from a US vendor.  Here is a little feedback from a man who has tried them:

QuoteI just installed these today, after having them laying around for months. It was a great upgrade. My engine does not move at all when I rev it up. ALso, the vibration is minimal. Only the driver can feel it. You also only really feel it when you step on the gas. I actually like the vibration. It gives the car a race car like feel. SO, if you have heared anything about these mounts that Cody is selling to be too stiff. Those claims were made by babies. My buddy rode with me and said that he didn\'t even notice them. It only took us about 1 hour and 20 minutes to do the swap also. Great stuff Cody.

Thanks for that Bob, the reason i asked is that if you have to remove the 3 bolt assembly (metal arms) off the sump, i believe it can lead to a difficult to cure oil leak!

if thats not so something else in thier favour!
cheers Bob

Bobfish

Sorry bob, i misunderstood you. In most cases YES you WILL need to remove the 3 bolts from the sump.

However, in my experience this does NOT lead to an oil leak. Sealing the sump up liquid gasket without these 3 bolts installed to the proper torque leads to an oil leak, as does removing the sump monkey fashion (hammer and screwdriver like)

You should be ok removing these 3 bolts after the sump sealer is set. I was!
