any one else comment on the above. went out for a bit in the fd today and after a long spirited drive found that it was popping and overfuelling quite badly when stop starting through traffic. i put it down to the heat..... well i hope so.

anyone else experiencing similar issues or have i got a big bill on the way??

What temps are you running?  Mine has been running fine so far (touch wood)

probedb

Hmm, could be. Mine was fine today, no more popping than usual, water temps around 90 when slow moving which is normal for me.

Could be the ecu adding more fuel in if your intake temps are high - you have Apexi PFC IIRC?

shafster

no power fc.

no idea on temps as i have no gauges wired up. i\'ll see how it runs later today. i think it was because it didnt get a chance to cool properly and was stuck in traffic pretty much all the way home.

Damn traffic spoiling fun! :Giggle

took it out for a spin earlier this evening and it was as good as gold, even when i gave it a good @ss whupping. must of just been the immense heat build up i guess :D

I think that when you are stuck in traffic for a while in this weather, the intercooler heatsoaks and takes a while of open road driving to cool back down :(

Shaf,

Without the relevant gauges you\'re alittle blind as to whats going on really, as i said to you when you came round the Power FC is brill cause it shows you whats going on all the time helping you figure out where the problem areas are.

Was out and about the other day, driving temp 75oC in traffic temp 90oC after stopping for a while (water temp), the scary one is the intake temps as they usually are around 30oC when driving but can go into the higher 50\'s when stood for a while, thus needing a good longish drive before cooling takes effect, water injection helps of course otherwise dont blast it after a long period of static traffic.

I think it is also relevant to the oil temps and not only the water temps....with the FD and the side mounted oil coolers..when in traffic the oil heats up radically as there is no air flow.Hence temps rise and oil takes longer to cool down than water. The water gets cooled qickly but the oil still keeps the motor warm so temps overall take a lil longer to come down. The management system tries hard to correct this but has a wobbly after a while.

On a NA motor it is easier to mount the oil cooler under the rad so the fan will assist in keeping the oil cool,on a 33deg day I have been stuck in traffic for a 1/2 hour, the fan kept the motor temps down to 80deg all the way.:Typing
