im having problems with ignition. Just hoping some of you may know what it could be of the top puf your head.

when i go to swith the car on i can smell the fuel being pumped and the turbos trying to spool but it just doesnt start.

i am presuming it id ignition coil, ht lead, spark plug (or something along those lines)

Has anyone else had this problem and if so what was your fix?

thanks for the help

howzit ?

what model rx7 ? FC FD ?

what do you mean ? when cranking the car to start it ? turbo\'s spooling ?

FC and FD have a over fuel problem when starting, try removing the EGI fuse pink 30A under bonnet left handside FC and next to battery FD crank over without fuse for 1 min then put fuse back in and try and start
not sure if this your prob ?

you could also try fitting a spare sparkplug to ignition lead stick it to earth, dont hold it :) and crank and see if you have spark, make sure you dont have a fuel leak :)

does the car fire up on the crank part of ignition and die when you release the ignition key ?

need more details of what your problem is

howzit :)

no need to be sorry :)

did you try a sparkplug ? to see if spark ? try all ignition leads for spark too

also did you try the fuse ? as sometimes with the over fueling they sound like there is no compression like a flat line :)

if its is a spark problem check to see wether there is spark on cranking only and also when cranked and normal ignition ie after you let go of the key :)

there is a spark amplifier/igniter thing under the brake booster its silver has 2 or 3 wires from memory could be your prob but carry out other steps first :)

hope it helps :) as hard to know without seeing car personally :)
