Hi All
Following my post ( lost horsepower help ) I now believe that my boost controler is not setup properly. Does anyone else have the same boost controller fitted that could possibly help me. I emailed Knightsporta in Japan and they sent me a one page document that explained how to fit it and how to navigate the meues( kind of ) but not what the options did.

It Doubles as a digital boost gauge but whatever I set the boost to anything between 0.6 bar of boost and 1.0 bar of boost the most it reads is 0.66 bar.

So yeah any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Niall

how have you got it pipe\'d up to the actuator\'s , is it pipe\'d up to the pre control and wastegate or just the wastegate?

Hi
This particular Boost controler plugs streight into the loom and controls the boost via the ecu loom and surposidly doesent plug into any vacume hoses apart from the one off the maniflod to show the boost pressure

Here is a how to link to install the boost controller which I have followed to the letter.

Hello RONON - i run the EBS3 boost controller and it works a treat :) Indeed it plugs into the loom and controlls boost via the solenoids all you need to do is provide the main box with a vac source form your manifold.

As for the setup you have 3 screens, Boost gauge, Boost set, and well an unknown one that seems to do sweet naf all.

The boost gauge has two modes (off and on) indicated with a little light at the right side light on = boost control on. Light off = boost control off (there are other functions by pressing and holding various buttons such as peak hold and reviewing maximum boost attained)

Boost set, You have a value its all read in KG/CM2 it will be set at 0.60 out of the box you need to up this to about 0.70 wich is standard boost levels i do belive.

The 3rd menu... well i don\'t have a clue it does does not seem to do anything nor does it save the changes.

On the box it self you have from memory two dip switchs and a volume dial.
W/N - Wide / Narrow - this controlls how fast the boost builds, Wide = slower to build but wont over boost, N = Rapid boost build but it may over boost.

S/P = Swing / Poppet wastegate - you need to set that to S

The volume dial is again an extension of the boost build from 7:00 its slow up to 3:00 its fast!
I woof in your general direction.

And here is the information i got from knightsports

QuoteAs to the hose connected,
EBS3\' s boost control valve,
Top : connect hose to intake manifold or compressor housing(boost)
Side : connect the hose to actuator swing valve
Bottom : free
Also you need to connect the hose(about 4mm dia) to EBS3(silver box).

As to switch on EBS3(silver box)

S-P switch : S:Swing valve
P:Poppet valve
N-W switch : N:Narrow range, the boost is quickly to rise, overshoot will happen.
W: Wide range, the boost is slowly to rise, overshoot will not happen.
First you have to set "W".

Volume dial : set at 12:00
If the boost is not stability, first you need to set the dial 7:00. next gradually turn right the dial.
If the boost is stability on "W" range, you need to also set the boost on "N" range(same way)
Finally "W" or "N", the best condition you use.

As to control pad,

Mode switch push once: boost set mode(you can set the boost using up or down button)
next: off set mode(a little boost set)
next: boost gauge mode

Power switch once : LED lights "-", sports mode.
next : LED doesn\'t light "-", normal mode.

Finally, you finished to install EBS3 assy, you drive the car to check the normal boost carefully.
(then EBS is power off)
Next you need to set the boost to consultation the above way.

thank you
I woof in your general direction.

thanks for all these information
Since i\'ve already a power fc , do i need this ebs ,

any benefit to have power fc + EBS3?
