Tuning/Engine Management Advice

Hi all,

I\'m hoping to get my FD back on the road in a week or two or three

With all the work that I\'ve been doing I assume I\'m going to need some sort of engine management unit.

The spec of the car when its ready for testing will be:

3" exhaust right through, (I\'m thinking of ditching the cat and getting a midpipe)
Simplified vacuum setup. (Airpump eliminated)
Stock intake

I\'m not looking for silly high power, literally reliability and I guess a little more go.

Is there any point in me keeping the stock CAT or will I be better off with a midpipe?

Would the stock ECU be ok with the CAT in place? I assume it will only need upgrading with the installations of a midpipe.
