Ok, if say, the water seals have gone on a rotary engine, and a self build is to be done, and assumming things like rotor housings, rotors, etc are in good condition, what is the bare minimum that needs to be purchased for a rebuild?

The RX Motors web site lists New Engine Gasket Set including water seals for £350, and also purely a New Water Seal Kit for £150. Surely it can\'t be that cheap (Assuming other parts are in good condition of course, which i know may not be the case)

to be honest you would be better off replacing all the tips side seals corner seals and relevent springs as well seeing as its apart (dont want to do it twice) unless its had a recent rebuild??

its worth spending the money on it now and saving yet more time and cost at a later date getting the engine out and apart again
There are performance cars and then there is the RX-7...........

12.3 second 1/4 mile, terminal speed of 122mph (1st ever drag run on a TO4R)

engine built by....... umm me! now powered by a T51 Kai......

i agree, def do the tips and corner seals, all springs etc, but i think the side seals are more likely to be re-usable, is that right dave? I know it doesnt save you much so maybe worth getting them anyway...

I got a price from reworx for everything apart from housings, rotors, plates (all major items basically) that was a month or two ago, i think it came in at about £8-900 ish but dont quote me, i was adding it up in my head!

im not expert but for a little over 100 quid for side seals i would definately get them as well....
