Hi guys
Took the car out for a spin in the lovely weather and all of a sudden my auto gear box fell out of gear.

Even after putting the car into neutral and re-selecting Drive it wouldn\'t go!! The engine just kept running and luckily the car rolled to safety.

The only way I could get the car to move was to put it into park, turn the car off and reselecting Drive. The car then proceeded for a about 10 yards then fell out of gear again :flamed .

Plus I could hear some strange noises under the gear box when I restarted it.

Lucily I got home with a combination of rolling and driving 10 yards at a time, I must of restarted the car 20 times I was amazed that the engine didn\'t flood. Lucily I had a mate in a TVR Tuscan who followed me home to safety :driving .

Does anyone know what has gone wrong????????????? :xconfused  :xconfused
I am really dissapointed and now considering a manual conversion as I don\'t trust the auto gearbox  :reallymad .

Possibly looking at a engine rebuild as the car it leaking colant, can anyone recommend anybody to do both of these jobs.

sounds like you could have a dead gearbox. If you want to stay Auto i\'m sure Carl Hayward had a auto box in last time i was down there and he\'s probably closest to you. If you want to convert to manual he should be able to do that as well as a engine rebuild. His computer has been down so i\'d ring him if i where you describe the symptoms and he might say its a quick fix.

From what I know about auto boxes there\'s a whole host of reasons this could happen ranging from cheap to fix (tightening up or topping up the gbox fluids) all the way up to a rebuild.  Not sure how easy the conversion to manual is though...

We have checked the dip stick at the back, is there anywhere else that I should be checking?

Conversion from Auto to manual is not a bad swap, you might need a different rear iron though, and a new starter motor, flywheel and front counterweight.

Plenty of people can do this, if you need any advice, 07977015912

When you check your oil level, is your engine running and is it in gear? Apparently this is how you are supposed to check the level.

We have a couple of Auto boxes in stock.
