new rotor housings

Not a problem, this just interested me ...........Just been on to Mazda today,  (Eventually found one who was prepared to look for rotary parts)  I asked about rotor housings, They said the front and rear housings are different with part numbers  but are the same price????????   Are there any difference between them, or is it mazda just defineing 2 housings per engine????
