Right, been puttin this on hold for far too long, and have started whistling and humming in the car due to lack of stereo. And i cant drown out the mrs natter either, which is bad.

So was wondering if anyone could help, looked at all the posts and searched everywhere but couldnt find what i needed.

When i bought my fd the guy i bought it off had the radio nicked, and all the wiring is a bit of a mess as a result. Theres no harness in there for me to plug straight into, or to fit one from halfords into, so im at a loss.

Got my head unit from my old car and want to put that in, but the cars an import so all the wirings all mad colours etc. I dont know which wire to connect to which, cos theres like beige and green wires, n red n orange, and i hvent got the foggiest which is which.

Anyone know which is power supply, aerial, speakers etc at all?

Any help would be much much appreciated

my honest answer bud......

tape up the existing cables in there and bunch them all together and forget about them. theyre cr4p cables anwyays.

run a new decent power (with fuse inline) from the battery. find a good earth and buy some decent speaker cable. not only will u know wot ur doing and what everything else is but it\'l sound a lot better with decent speaker cables!!! :Thumbsup!

lol like what i did.
i bought the manual on cd and had to go through th ehole lot to find what wire did what.
as i was only wanting a temp stereo i went for this option but as said before if your putting in desent stuff then better to wire your own wires up.

if you still wanting wire colours i have writin them down at work and can post them up if you want.

edgasket

have the stereo going now, only one speaker though, LOL - the rest are knackered, but I\'ll do them tomorrow...

Do you know where\'s the best place to get power for the gauges I\'m going to throw in there above the stereo so they light up when I turn the lights on?

Mobilemick

You could get the light from the ciggie lighter
