Hello people, new to the RX7 scene,

I\'ve been thinking about purchasing a turbo II for a little while, but not too sure on what i should be looking at.

i went to take a look at a 91 convertible today, but there was no hisory just MOT\'s to back up the mileage.

i started it up and it was lumpy. it then warmed up,but still lumpy, also it was smoking alot and the smoke didn\'t smell good. Apart from that it was very clean.

please could someone tll me that this is as standard on most turbo II\'s and what should i look for?

Cheers Tron

Yep sounds not to good, but needs a good run, some hot and
cold starts and a compression test.Everyone says this but you
wont have access to a compression tester will you!
I think really the big issues are bodywork damage/resprays
and rust.
condition of wheels and interior (cos when you have it up together you Will want to show it off).
The engine after 70k will be geting tired and if you start tinkering
which you prob. will (exhaust and intake) It will finish off the
engines first stage in life and require £1500 to refresh ready
for its second stage of life as a near new engine again!
Clutch at 60-5 k ish maybe aswell.
But DO keep looking their going quite cheap right now very
quick for the money and will make you grin lots.
