in this month\'s Retro Cars mag - nice to see a bit of magazine coverage!

Just got myself a copy of the Retro Cars mag.  I must say this is an excellent article about buying a Gen 1.  Very good section on servicing etc. only bit I think they missed out was need for replacement of fuel filter at regular intervals.  Apart from that spot on.

Also I think I saw this car in Bath on Tuesday evening as I was driving mine back from Matt\'s.  Saw a good looking Silver with an L at the end of the VRM, so may be the one.

Also looking at the article on the retro car meet at Santa Pod - looked v. interesting.  Perhaps we should see how much interest there would be for attending this type of eveny next year with a selection of old skool rotaries.

The pics of Mk 1 and Mk 2 Escorts doing their stuff in the woods also brought back some happy memories, perhaps a trip to the next HRCR event is on the cards!

The car was at teh REtro car meet thingy at Santapod a few months back. We went down in my brothers 1st gen and had a chat with the owner. We both thought we were the only 1st gens there  :p

I went to that RCS show aswell and it was damn good. Would defentely been keen to taking my old schooler there next time!

As for the article also very good, except for where he says he is planning on upgrading to twin carbs

Whats up with twin carbs ?

Twin SU\'s used to be common and I have a twin DCOE manifold on my 1st gen  :3gears-lh  just look at the IPRA cars and the top engines are running 1 choke per port

I\'ve got nothing agaist twin carbs Mike. I just think they\'re an unnecessary expense on a standard engine. The standard four barel can supply enough fuel for a large bridgeport if setup correctly and then there\'s the tried and trusted 48IDA if you really want to race!

Just my opinion ;)
