Well that was a nice little overview of the FC they squeezed into the FD buying guide  :reallymad

\'Having sold well over half a million cars, Mazdas successor in 1985 was larger, heavier and softer, far less of a sports car and more of a boulevard cruiser. Even with a larger 13B engine fitted performance was anchored by excessive weight.\'

I always thought the FC was lighter than the FD?   :xconfused

Mike,

Only in a book, not electronically.  Although I am sure you could buy one.

This came from:

and there are a few more if you look through 1984 and 1985 archives.

You know I said I was mad about something that I\'d read in "Japanese Performance Mag" two days ago?  Voila, you\'ve hit the nail on the head!  :reallymad  I\'m glad it\'s not just me!

Mmmmnnn "boulevard cruiser" :eek and the weight :eek eek - this gem of a half-truth again! :rollin

All NA coupe 2nd gens are lighter than the FD.
The 2nd gen cabriolet\'s are heavier than an FD (not surprising due to the sturdyness of the roof design).
The TII second gens are heavier than the 1st FD.

In every instance, as there are so many models we are talking of 150 - 200 lb\'s.
