Hi there,
im am currently looking to get my gauges fitted to my car and am wondering how easy it is to run the wires. I have the twin gauge pod that will fit in the centre speaker on the dash. I am fitting both a boost gauge and a water temp gauge. Should I run both wires behind the dash to the drivers side of the car? then through to the engine bay by drilling 2 x 10mm (or whatever)  fitting rubber   grommets/o-ring and running the cable though? How easy is it to do this? Does the dash need to be removed in places? What sort of time is involved?
Any help/tips/advise very welcome.

Thanks
Steve

Steve, sorry for the delay, dont know how I missed this.

For getting cables/pipes through from the cabin to the engine bay, go via each wing. They have wires and stuff already going though them, so jack up the front, take a wheel off, then the plastic liner and you should see a rubber grommet, they are biggish in size.

From the centre speaker down to the footwells, use a nice length of plastic or stiff wire and tape the cables to that, then feed from the speaker hole down to the side of the footwell you have taken out.

Should the standard length of cable be long enough to fit? They are HKS gauges but I have not measured the lenght of tubing suppled yet, but thought this might be a simple yes they always supply more than enough.
Also is it best to run the boost gauge to the drivers side and the water temp to the pass. side? or does it matter?

I dont know how long the cables are on HKS gauges, try offering it up to get a ruff idea.

Best go via the drivers side footwell, as both boost and water are on that side of the engine.

Had a quick look at the gauges this morning. The tubing supplied is 2m long. Might be close!

I have recently purchased some 52mm HKS DB mechanical gauges and am at the moment trying to fit them but am after some information.
1. What thread is on the water temp gauge probe end?
2. 2m of tubing is supplied for both the boost gauge & water temp, I think 2m will be enough for the boost but I know this is not enough for the water temp. Where can I get a 3m length from? What\'s best done here?

Any suggestions very welcome
