Ok here goes....i\'ve imported a 1993 Efini and i\'m having troubles.  I know there have been a couple of threads about some of these issues but would appreciate if someone could simplify and expand on the following problems....

1.  Idle is erratic - it will not go below 1500rpm and when stationary or in neutral it continuously "pulses" between 1500rpm and 1800rpm - though driving is fine.....

2. The turbos don\'t seem to spool properly...seriously down on power but again seems to drive ok.  I\'ve read everywhere that its probably something to do with the vaccum pipes...but i\'ve printed off a diagram and theres millions!!!! are there a few that split or come off more than others - i dont know where to start!
:(   the boost gauge never rises above 0.5 and occasionally drops to 0.3 suddenly......

You guys know your stuff....please help a newbie!!!

ONE MORE THING....my seatbelt light will not go out and its playing havoc with the windows!  can i just remove a fuse or something?  CHEERS!!!!

Hi, maybe you may get a better responce from actually introducing yourself properly.
I am 100% positive you have been lurking here for a very long time before posting only when in trouble!

Sorry can\'t help with your problem, maybe try with the people you bought it from!

As far as the idle goes you may need to reset the ECU, disconnect the battery and then press the brake pedal for approx 20 secs, then reconnect battery and start up.

Otherwise you may require a decent mapping session to sort the motor out buddy, i have a single turbo rx so cant comment on the twin turbo issue sorry :(

Trex - i\'ve only had the car a week - been scouting the forums so yeah been on here a while - so whats the prob?   sorry i didn\'t come and personally introduce myself!

thanks for the advice prb - running a little low on cash so any quick remedies help!   :)

DaemonRX7

I meant GSB sorry dude!

gsb876

Theres no prob with you using the forum matey,

Just usually when we get a new member they introduce themselves alittle so we know who they are thats all dude :)

This forum is easily one of the most laid back forums there is and also possibly the most friendly one so please enjoy :)

If the quick fix doesn\'t work then you might have to go see one of your local rotary experts just to see what the problem is, hopefully nothing too bad

Sounds like you\'ve got a loose vac hose somewhere. All symptoms would point to that.

Pulsing Idle, lack of boost, no decent pressure.

No big deal.

As for the light, dunno about that sorry mate.

Trex, chill man. Many peoples first post is in need of help. Surely thats why we are all here?

DaemonRX7

Cheers guys!  Appreciate that i should have said hi first at least, so hey everyone at the MRC! :D

With the loose vac hose in mind - are there any in particular that usually split or pop off?  Gonna give it the once over again today but if not i\'ll just take it to someone to have a look at.  i\'m in the guildford area - does anyone know of a decent specialist without travelling across the galaxy?

TRex

Sorry, maybe I was brought up differently...

Anyway if you bought a car less than a week and it has these problems.. what would you do?

dude...if you took offence then why bother replying? I posted on the mazda rotary club because i had a look back through some of the posts with problems and you guys seem to know everything about the rotary engine, if i make some friends along the way then great, but don\'t be upset because i didn\'t come and shake your hand.

I appreciate every bit of help people can give me but so far you havent.  As for taking the car back - as i said in the first post which you took great offence to - it is an import so thats out of the question.

I\'m nt into slanging matches so i apologise for not introducing myself - my name is Matt, love me Jap cars but this is my first RX - kinda wishing i hadn\'t bought it but hopefully i\'ll change my mind.  :(

...seatbelt light and windows...

That\'s a faulty CPU box.  Sometimes called an F100, or ECU 2.  It\'s located under the dash on the drivers side by the fuses and controls the seatbelt light, buzzer, hazzards, to name a few things.  When it goes faulty you get the constant flashing of the seatbelt light, and if you try to open your windows, they move in time with the flashes.  Seems to happen most on 93/94 cars, and a few guys on here have suffered with it.

Get the importer you bought the car from to replace it, or if it was a private sale, one of the tuners can supply you one for around £25.  Mine came from Tim (RX Motors).

Definitly sounds like a vacuum issue. Just in case (as it\'s quite a common issue), check the map sensor\'s connected. It\'s a small black plastic sensor the size of a matchbox bolted to the bulkhead.. It\'s right behind the throttle body.

DaemonRX7

Excellent - thanks for that weasle, i\'ll get onto it today!  :D

DaemonRX7

Thanks fro - i\'ll check that now! :D
