Hello all.

I\'ve just fitted a twin plate to my T2, It makes a metalic rattling noise when the clutch is depresed.

Is this normal? It drives ok etc but this is driving me mad, it can\'t be right?

hate to be the bearer of bad news but the answer is yes twin plate clutches are famous for rattling..

is the spline type parts chattering ? I don\'t think it would work without a clearance so I\'d guess it\'s normal

My HKS twinplate is the same. But its not a bad trade off for a decent pedal with a big BHP engine

It was all spotless when i built it up, i tryed the plates on the gear box spline\'s and all was spot on.

I had though when i was assembling the Clutch what would happen to the divider plate between the two plates when there was not load on them. Well i found out.

Is anyone running an Exedy twin? I guess there the same?

I didn\'t mean those splines, I meant the ones on the outside of the pressure plates that take the drive from the multiple plates ( IIRC how multi plate clutches work)

Grizzly

I know what you ment, the divider plate that has lugs on the outer edge so it doesn\'t spin.

I was just saying that it was put together correctly.

this is the type of thing I am thinking of

sorry ... needed to read all of that last post instead of just  reading some of it  and filling in blanks :D

Yeh thats the baby.

Don\'t get me wrong i love the clutch, it can handle power and the pressure needed to push it down is the same as a stocker.

BUT!!!!

I have not got used to the Traffic thing yet and people tend to think it needs a new clutch rather than its just had one.

Regarding the traffic Problem, would fitting sprung Plates help with that?
