Hi all,

can anyone clarify the following questions I have please?

See this hard pipe kit for the standard mount intercooler: - http://www.fujita-eng.com/fd3s/tune_img/p_011.jpg"/>
It contains 2 pipes, the top one being the intercooler intake pipe replacement and the bottom one being the pipe replacement between the intake elbow and the intercooler exhaust - or the red circled pipes in image of the engine bay (below).

Now, we have another hard pipe kit for the standard mount intercooler: - http://www.fujita-eng.com/fd3s/tune_img/p_012.jpg"/>
This again contains the intercooler intake pipe.  It also contains the intake elbow.  This is where I get confused as it contains a long pipe.  Now I assume this is to connect the intake elbow to the intercooler, but I haven\'t convinced myself that it is the correct shape / size.

Can anyone confirm that I am correct?

Thanks

Looks like you are correct but I dont understand why the two kits would contain the pipe from the top of the intercooler.

chrisBoid

The first kit has the short pipe which connects the elbow to the concertina type pipe.

The second kit has the long pipe which looks like it replaces all the plastic pipe (including the concertina type pipe) from the elbow to the intercooler.

Lee, you say "I dont understand why the two kits would contain the pipe from the top of the intercooler" - why\'s that?

J4P RX

Well because if you bought both kits (they look like the same manufacturer so I guess they assume people will do so), then you are going to have two of the pipes that come out from the intercooler

The first pic is a kit which fits the standard Mazda elbow.

The second kit uses the greddy elbow (in the pic) which is shorter than the standard Mazda elbow, hence the longer top pipe.

Okay, it all makes sense now, thanks efiniste.

I didn\'t realise the plastic elbow extended all the way down to the concertina type pipe  So with the replacement elbow, which is shorter, you need a longer pipe.

Thanks all.
