Would\'nt the pick ups be better lower down/ or on the bottom of the tank, also in case of a impact would the tank crack along the welds?
It may be worth building another one and testing it in an impact??

The pick-ups are at the lowest point, they are restricted by the the chassis. Although internally they go to the base of the tank.
The tank is a complex shape, so its not really economical to build another one and test it to destruction!

ds2000

It looks fantastic, gives me more motivation to get mine 7 all finished :D

DRAGON

I remember working on this car last christmas, and now its creapt up on me again, but we\'ve cleared a customer back log, so the circuit car is back on the ramp and the work can carry on.
Part of the problem is that I keep changing the plans, so bits are always evolving.

TwistedHumour

Its looking good :)

So are you planning on doing to it in the new year?

Is it my imagination or is there a bar going up the centre of the front windscreen?

- it\'s not my imagination, just seen the other pictures earlier in the thread. How do you see out the back?! It\'s a very, er... extravagant cage you\'ve got there.

See out the back??? The only reason I will need to look out the back is to watch the skylines trying to keep up.

Extravagant cage? Yeah heard that one before, getting boring now.
I\'m not particularly interested in justifying it. I could post up many pictures of more extravagant cages, in world rally cars, touring cars and generally most serious race cars. The reason you dont see these cages all the time, is because the limiting factor is the generally the customers budget. They are very time consuming to design and build, different tube thickness, dia, location, gussets, shear plates etc.
