Getting into my FD on Sat. i thought the windows steamed up rather quickly. When i opened the boot - water ran straight onto the parcel shelf & down the inside rear panels, on closer inspection there was about 2 pints of water sitting under the spare wheel !!!(strange no drainage pug unlike other cars??). Does anyone know where i can buy a new rubber boot seal ? I believe it is just the 1 piece whole rubber thing that goes all the way round the boot opening.  I have been informed (by an unreliable source) that you just rip off the old one & replace with a new one.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Shark

they all seem to leak a bit mate

Take the grey plastic off behind the light covers and have a good clean of the little grilles in the plastic.

I did this with mine and it dramatically reduced the amount of water ingress but in really heavy rain I still get a small amount of build up in the wheel recess.  nothing liek the couple of pints I got before though. - that said, it needs pretty heavy rain to get that much in.

£111.62 (inc. vat) from OUR clubs discount Mazda garage (Bourne Road). That includes postage, Anyone ever fitted it ??????
Is it just as simple as rip off the old one & push in the new one (no tools, or glue etc ?)
ps - thanks Shark, i\'ll have a look at the lights cluster (little grill this evening).

From memory, there have been posts from time to time, where water has apparently leaked into the rear tailgate and then into the boot, via the mounting holes for the rear spoiler. I guess there are rubber seals or similar that may perish over time? I think these leaks were fixed by re-sealing the mounting points.

Just a thought - you may not need a new boot seal, unless you know it is knackered, of course!
