Where is the mileage information held?

My clocks are on their way out, and so they will need replacing sooner or later. Question is, if I put new clocks in(the whole unit, electronics and all, not just individual dials), will the mileage be the same i.e. is it stored elsewhere, or will the mileage be whatever the new clocks were before they were removed?

I believe that if you put new clocks in then it would read zero, I dont think its stored anywhere. Although you would probably be buying new dials not actually electronics of the speedo, so would stay the same.

No, I mean the electronics as well. My petrol gauge doesn\'t work all the time, and my rev counter is a bit dicky sometime. I found some knightsport ones somewhere, which replaced all the clocks so was probably going to get those, which brings me on to my next question - Where can I get digital mileages recalibrated.

never actually looked but i understand theirs lots of "clockers" or wotever they\'re called in the back of various car mags.....
Si (not specific so probably not helpful.....)

I can recommend a company who can convert your speedo to mph and change the kms light on the display to show just mile
With this conversion there is no need to purchase a speedo converter chip / de-limiter the conversion is full U.K. spec
this comapany is based in cheshire u.k.
but offers the service via post

his email is

info@autoprotec.co.uk

hope putting this helps people

thanks paul
