Hi all,

I have been contacted by a guy who works for Fast Fours & Rotaries Magazine in Australia (possibly the biggest rotary magazine in the world). He is visiting the UK in July.

He was wondering if there were any rotary meets on at that time - as far as I can tell at the moment there isn\'t???  Please let me know if there is something on then - as it could work out nicely.

It would be great if we can get a stack of cars together, the best day is going to be Saturday 19/07/03. Can I have some suggestions please on where we should meet up and what we should do etc. I was thinking something like a pub meet would be perfect, and a cruise so he can get some great photos/ and possibly video footage.

It will have to be somewhere where we can get as many people as possible together.

This will obviously be a combined effort between all the clubs (really going to be mazdarotaryclub.com and FDUK as far as I can tell at the moment).

Would be great to show all the people in Down Under how the rotary is coming along here at a rapid rate!

Looking forward to your replies.

.ps This is the weekend before JAE at Billing, and it is the only weekend he can do this unfortunately.
Thanks,

johnf

Well I was impressed with Brooklands - would that not be suitable, home of british motorsport ect. Access isn\'t too bad and we had a lot attend last time.
I started with nothing and I have most of it left

I was thinking along similar lines :)

To be convenient for most it would have to be in that neck of the woods.

Did think about Beaulieu, but that would be less convenient in terms of distance for most in the North of England the East

what about donnington :)

Mike (not being biased at all :D )

Needs to be some where there\'s room to do a couple of doughnuts at least doesnt it? Not sure Brooklands can manage that!

Why not ask Mazda UK to sponser it? Marketing and sales makes the world go round (oh yeah an sex too!), Mazda UK (and Mazda fullstop) last time I read the shares and market reports are doing massively well on the basis of the MX-5 and new six. They need that momentum to continue especially in the UK where they can *win* over the hearts of not only the growing base of rotary fans,  but also the company car and lease drivers. It is a win-win solution for the corporation and the followers - they get fantastic exposure and the UK rotary scene gets an excellent base for such a rare, unique and original shoot............

Of course just my few apex seals worth and anything I say is truely based on my own actions and alleged mind :)

Had a thought [unusual for me!] If you are after moving shots and a gathering - how about the pub we met in to go to Bolney in Godstone [sorry can\'t remember the name] and maybe a cruse down to Brighton? / Box Hill? - just a thought.

what about Bruntingthorpe, that place has got plenty of room and is central, not only that I also know the owner well, and he is definately a fast car nut, so he might just be up for it.

I agree with Mike - Donington has got to be ideal as it is so centrally located and with great road links. And they have a huge car park behind the pits.

PS - it\'s Donington, not Donnington :D

Glenn,
Will be up for this m8!!! Not sure about meeting places though, got to be central to everyone and large enough to accommodate us all. Will think about it and keep you posted.

erm maybe tight but may have the black car the then, and maybe Chloe bring along yellow.

Well Glen
You have plenty of interest, sounds to me like a norf v\'s sarf situation- maybe the solution would be a meet half way [north of the M25] and a cruse there after. Did think of your area, prehaps the milenium dome [not much good for anything else!] - big car park, a few tunnels to fly through (AKA street racing in Japan), could be fun.

Where abouts is Donington Park? Is that the one just east of Grantham?
