apparently the HKS mushroom filters have the worse filtration and induction flow. i have heard that the red and black apexi cone air filters are the better option. on my red series 5 turbo i fired on a cheapy ripspeed one from halfords it does the job (and it doesn\'t say ripspeed on it either!) you have to put a bolt through one of the airbox mounts to hold the airfilter and MAF steady. i will see if i have a pick

id say anything with as much dispute should be well avoided... especially when you can just pick another 1 with no horror stories attached, upto you al the same, i just wouldent risk it..,. true or false.... theres a great selection of others to choose... just my thoughts

Ive been looking around and the best bet seems to be a custom k&n cone filter like these..

Not even sure if these would fit im just guessing the afm is 2.5" but prices seem reasonable.

Normally I\'d jump at th chance but this living in Cyprus malarky makes that kinda hard, how much would you consider selling the blitz filter for? You fancy pming me a pic and a price? I think it\'s got to be either blitz, apexi or k&n after yesterday\'s discussions.

Im running a bmc cda carbon direct cold feed. Its the biggest of 3 that they do had it running on my mr2 as well.

Edit - just had a look on ebay, they\'re pretty damn expensive!

I used to run a pipercross Viper on my 106 GTI, its a similar kind of thing and pretty good, but i\'m looking for a cheaper upgrade and will get something like this at a later date.

Yeah i know thats the best option, but i really want to change it mainly for astetics more than performance. I hate all the plastic of the airbox and fan cover, that will be done later in the year, but one thing at a time.

Anyone running Pipercross stuff? I used to always go for pipercross on my last 2 hatches, but for some reason i\'ve overlooked them for the FC?
