Balls! Not balls as in I don\'t believe you, I mean balls as in that\'s something else I\'ve got to find money for! Thanks for the wisdom guys. Oh, well, they\'ll have to put up with being black and clagged up for a while longer. At least it\'s safer to run rich than lean.....

Driftworks do them reasonably cheaply if you want them from the UK as well. Plus you get free sweets, yyyyyyyyyyummeh!

dunno if this is any help? http://www.gumtree.com/london/89/21937689.html

"Contrary to popular beliefs, Apexi Filters don\'t last a lifetime. Apexi recommends inspecting the filter at least every 15,000 miles (25,000km).

After the inspection, you can either cleane the filter if that is feasible or discard the filter and get another one-This is the recommendation of Apexi for Japan where the air is much cleaner as cars with diesel engines have been banned on any Japanese road, hence the gap for inspection of any UK or European cars fitted with an Apexi filter is much shorter, circa 10,000 miles.

Apexi is a paper based filter and cannot be re-oiled and spray cleaned or even washed like K&N, it can only be replaced."

not sure whether this is true, or just one guys opinion i dont know.:wiggle

Does anyone know best way to clean Blitz SUS cones? I think they be dry type as well?
Work hard, play hard house :D

BlitzBoy

yep they are a dry type. Just use compressed air to get most of the crud out.

Speedworks

dip and soak in petrol, then air blow thme inside out  and let dry...

If you\'re not regularly cleaning them you can spray them with some Green air or K&N filter oil

they\'re dry filters? I thought you weren\'t supposed to use oil on them?

Nooo - no oil for Apexi filters! at least, not the apexi power twin-cone filters.  They are indeed \'dry\' filters, and should not be oiled...

BlitzBoy

yep no oil for the dry type filters, you will actually clog up the small holes and get less air through the filters

Just as a follow up...

I e-mailed Blitz about the cleaning of mine: (I got Blitz SUS cones) and here is copy and pasted reply....

Hi Graeme, my best advise would be not to wash the cone, but blow it out gently and carefully with an airline.
Use a damp cloth to wipe it with if need be. You are correct, the SUS is a dry filter, and does not require oiling.
