You should stick with what Mazda advise and only use MINERAL oil. Do a search on it, it\'s been covered loads of times.

You should only be using synthetic on cars not using the OMP and running pre-mix.

Semi-Synthetic is a MINERAL oil. It\'s 100% petroleum basestocks, no PAO and no ESTER.

The oil debate will go on forever, if you guys want to learn more I have a stand at JAE where Royal Purple will be there with there oil testing machine and can answer all questions.
Royal Purple is a true double ester fully syn oil, it dosnt come any better.

How much does it cost? a mate of mine was saying he had a hard job getting it, in the terms of about 5 week delivery time :(

A word of warning really.

Please read my thread concerning the use of synthetics before you do.

I\'m not saying that you can\'t but just understand the "possible" consequences.

If you don\'t need them then semi-synthetics (petroleum based) are a better option, one step up on mineral oils but from the same basestocks.

Ester is great, in fact if you read many of my writings on other car forums then I advocate the use of ester based (blended with pao) synthetics as a must if you are tracking or competing in the car as a must (in my case the likes of Silkolene PRO and Motul 300v are the best that I do as I only sell European Oils) but my recommendations to not stretch to rotaries unless they are being used in extreme circumstances where shear stability is an issue.

No wanting to cause a debate, just hoping that people read the facts about them first.

Cheers

PS. I\'m at JAE too so feel free to pop in for a chat or whatever.
