Are there any shops at all that could essentially put the motor together, and allow me to do the necessary work of getting it to fit, run, etc? All Id need is the motor itself built. It isnt for me but ive been approached by a customer who has the money, let me know.

As Si says Carl is building a 4 rotor at the moment but its in its infantcy still. May still be worth a chat though for sure.

Alec Bell of Kiwi-RE in NZ has been making custom 3 and 4 rotor engines developing huge horsepower on the road and at the strip for a good while now. These are motors built up on custom cranks machined by Precision Eng in NZ I think.

The turbo\'d 4 rotor in QSS\'s BMW is one example that was mentioned on here recently.

How much cash does the guy have to spend!? Gonna cost him a fortune for this kind of setup!

The BMW engine was not built by Alec.In fact I don\'t know of (But maybe someone else does) any 4 rotor engines that Alec has built. He has certainly done some 3 rotors ones though.
The link here to Ausrotary shows that Bill Nabham built the engine.

About halfway down,see "Avenges" post

Mine is running and has been for some time now.
I would not say that it is really in it\'s infancy, the engine is pretty fresh and still being run in.Building a 4 rotor engine is quite expensive i can say that, but of course much depends on the spec that you would like. A very competent engine builder should have no trouble doing it but remember that unlike building any Mazda production engine you do have to make and machine quite a few parts and also work out how to make some of the parts yourself to make it work. Then it has to be balanced too.
So it is not just a case of buying the parts and throwing it together as in a 13b or 20b.

Carl;)

Damn, foiled again! Felt sure it was, is it a MazSport job or some thing then? Apologies.

By infancy I meant that it wasnt tuned or running hard yet which I guess is the benchmark for the project. Soon eh tho? ;)

Maybe Glenn has some better headsup about 4 rotors in aus?

Rich

PS so you still have the red tt rx3?
