Drifting any where near half decent is very setup dependant - ask Lee. I dont think the FD is as bad as other cars to drift in stock form, dunno about the FC though...

If you dont have an LSD you want one straight away.  People will tell you that they manage on open diffs but its crap.  As is stock suspension on most cars.  Never driven an FC so I cant comment on them specifically.

The difference between the S14 and the FD is massive, although both of them have LSD\'s the S14 viscous one is really crap.  Infact sometimes I wish it was open so it could be welded.

Suspension setup is important, but you are not likely to get far as no-one here knows anything about setup.  That said it wouldnt put me off, just means you dont have as good a start point as the 200sx lot.

The thing with the FD that wasnt so good is the non-sequential (especially on mine) but that can be sorted out.  Drift FD\'s ive seen in Japan run very different suspension set up to most the other cars though.  Spring rates on the FD are really hard, thats about all I can work out.

hi all

i\'m still planning to get a fc for drifting but i\'ve been offered
a non-turbo. Is it still good for drifting or turbo still better?

thanks
andy

rotary_rogers

well imo turbo still going to be better but i think with a good setup and N/A rx could be nice for drifting i say this from experience as ive tried it in a egi and a t2. we all have vinyls and stuff ready for the cars so let us know how your search goes.

regards

louis

yeah ok not a problem.

how old are you since you said you are the youngest in the club?

Does any one know what diff has it got on the egi model?

rotary_rogers

im 18 and bought my first rx about 4 months ago that being the egi model, picked up my t2 in the last month, not sure about the diff on the egi but it is certainly ok for some drifting, depends on how far you want to take it really i need to find i nice diff, daily driver by day and stuper drifter by night. where abouts do you live.

drifter-x

Do you mind if i ask how much is your insurance? for your t2?
I want to make a full drift car.
What about you? How many people you got together now?

Euge

Thought id say hi, ive just got an FC - NA and will be drifting and i can usually be found on driftworks :)

rotary_rogers

well at the mo we have 4 cars three fc\'s and one fd that have vinyls and stuff, i am paying around 1300 a year fully comp and that is through an american company.

up&coming

throw a street port and super charger along with fuel an the NA will hold its ground
