All,

I came to start the RX at the weekend after not driving it for around 3 weeks and it wouldn\'t play.

I set the PFC commander to show me battery voltage and it was reading 12.3 volts at first stage but dropping to 5.5 volts as soon as the starter motor was engaged.

Firstly, I take it I\'ll need at least 12 volts when the starter motor is engaged to stand any chance of it firing up.

Secondly, at what point does fuel start getting injected (I don\'t want to risk flooding it and it never fires without throttle being applied anyway so I tend to opt for the foot to the floor method of starting to reduce the risk of flooding)

Thirdly, how likely is it that the ECU will now have defaulted back to its base map (the battery wasn\'t completely shot) and I\'ll need a rolling road session to get it set up again...

Any help would be appreciated - the battery is on trickle charge now (since Saturday) and it still hasn\'t got the green light on the charger as yet so no play at the weekend :( ...

All the best

Get some jump leads and then drive it on a long drive to get the battery to charge up, happened to me as i left the radar detector hooked up but didn\'t drive the car for a week and it went dead.

Jump started it, and took for a long spin, now back to normal, shouldn\'t effect the mapping and mine didn\'t flood either.

Hope that helps??

You should see a drop in voltage when you crank the engine, ie, 12 to 9-10 any less than 9 and your not going to start.

Thanks folks - I didn\'t try it last night but I was getting nowhere near 9 volts on the starter on Sunday...

Gurj, where abouts in Derby are you - I grew up in Ilkeston. I take it your grin was as wide as mine on Saturday?!?
