Very kind of you. I can assure you there are limits, beyond which the danger of garage rage increases considerably. Cortina and Nikki carbs are known to have crossed said limit on occasion.

It has just been decided by the Greater Powers of All Things Rotary: Noriaki is having a brand new 12A twin-distributor engine, professionally built to standard spec. Brand new NOS houses and the whole lot. Plan is to install the new wonder next spring. We'll be joining your New Engine Club, Clive, by the looks of it.

Yep! Might have to make another lucky find soon. Noriaki should have the hi-power 130 bhp exhaust manifold, but I suspect he has been fitted with the lo-power one. Hard to see from the image and the heat shield masks it nicely from above. Any thoughts?

It's nearly three years since I got Noriaki. And since Malcolm has just made me Po8 LauREate, I suppose I should mark the occasion with another limREick:

The car salesman fit the cliché
And his methods were rather outré
But from under the trash
And clutter and stash
Emerged a Capella Coupé

Just dug my way in to the garage, got a new and more powerful battery. So soon, soon, some progress is to be expected. Btw: this is the kind of exhaust manifold I'm looking for. Anyone seen one, please give us a shout!

Found this pic form when Noriaki was two-tone (or rather multi-tone) orange after that failed attempt at a partial paintjob. And, of course, it inspired another limREick:

A partial paintjob seemed within range
But that plan was soon bound to change
