Id use the 6 speed with the r3 diff. Perfect for na if your using the 18" rx8 alloys.
If using a smaller dia wheel id use the standard 4.4 else with the 4.7 1st will be very short.
There are diff calculators online you can have a play with.

Makes sense, thanks Jon

The stock set up is 225/45R18

Wanted to run steels for a traditional luck.

Can't get 18s but I've got 17s that fit.

I can run 225/50R17 which is 3mm smaller in diameter

So it's basically stock

Bit more sidewall, just means more dynamic driving lol

I agree with Jon. R3 diff is stronger and that diff rations is better for you.

However, 6 speed gearbox might have better gear rations for you, than 5 speed has, but it is not as strong. But it shouldnt be issue for your setup

Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

Yes, better to ask people who have lived and breathed it rather than trawl the internet and sift through the wrong info ....

Maybe worth knowing that the 192 box is physically smaller than the 231 one box as this may be better for fitting up into the transmission tunnel.
All the best Clive

re japi

Oh, good point sir. Size differense is actually quite big too

Not updated my thread for a while.

But I can confirm, there is one thing worse than fibreglassing

Lining up panel gaps on fibreglass panels.

My ocd may have to take a back seat with this build as it's not gonna be concours.

As a saying goes that I use frequently at work.

Just a thought, you probably know how the hot rod shops in the states get panel gaps, they put the doors on, body filler the side of the car then with a thin slitting wheel, cut the door gaps !

Just a  thought, i'll get my coat  ;D

Yeah seem that done on plenty of Boyd coddington programmes.

It's difficult as the winged flare out towards the wheels from the door openings.
